L’Award Season si impreziosisce con un gruppo di altri premi dal carattere settario e internazionale. I loro verdetti hanno una ridotta influenza sulle scelte dei membri degli Academy, ma in ogni caso consentono di avere una visione completa dei gusti della critica, sia quella che opera fuori dai confini statunitensi per film in lingua inglese (Gran Bretagna, Canada, Australia), sia quella tesa a valorizzare un target di pubblico ben preciso, sia quella destinata a preservare la cinematografia nazionale.
